ROLL UP, ROLL UP, IF YOU WANT A 201

- Philip Nolan

IF last January is anything to go by, then over 30,000 new cars will be driven off the forecourts next month, a full quarter of annual sales. If you’re in the market for a 201 reg, here’s a brief round-up of some of the deals on offer.

The all-new Opel Corsa, pictured, recently voted Best

Buy Car of Europe by the Autobest international motoring jury, is available at 3.9 per cent APR on both PCP and hire purchase agreements, with monthly repayments of €198. Opel’s Astra, Crossland X and Grandland X models are all available at 0 per cent APR on both PCP and hire purchase, with a €3,000 scrappage allowance.

If you order a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (it’s a plug-in hybrid) by Tuesday, you will receive an €800 home charging point for free, an €800 Dunnes Stores voucher and an eight-year warranty. Pricing starts at €39,900.

Honda is offering finance of 3.9 per cent, PCP or hire purchase, on any Civic ordered before Tuesday and registered before the end of January. The range starts at €24,250, or €259 per month. Customers can upgrade to the four-door saloon version for the same price as the five-door hatch; the Premium trim saloon also carries a higher specification than the hatchback equivalent, adding LED fog lights, LED headlights with washer, wireless phone charging heated rear seats as standard, a package valued at €1,500.

Renault is offering savings of €3,500 on financed new cars with a €1,000 carbon cashback, and 2.01 per cent APR (saving around €2,500 in interest compared to high street banks). The offer is available on the ZOE electric car, and on lower-emission diesel and petrol variants of the Clio, Captur, Kadjar and Mégane. The offers are available until the end of January.

Sister brand Dacia is offering zero deposit and 4.9 per cent APR finance on Duster, Sandero, Sandero Stepway SUV and Logan MCV, again until the end of January.

Volkswagen is offering technology upgrades across the range, 0 per cent APR PCP finance on many models, purchase contributions of up to €2,500 and discounted service plans. As an example, the Polo Comfortline includes €1,521 worth of extras for just €599, and 1.9 per cent APR finance for monthly repayments of €199.

Get your skates on if you want a Ford, because its offers also end on Tuesday. These include a registration bonus of up to a €1,000 and seven years warranty and seven years roadside assistance.
