WEDNESDAY
The Wrong Nanny (2017) PG
● 2.20PM, CH5 ★★
If you watch a lot of TV movies from the Lifetime camp and others, it’s unlikely you’d ever hire a nanny to care for your little ones. Here, the crazy carer in question wants revenge on the mum who gave her up for adoption.
The Man From Laramie (1955) U ●
4.50PM, FILM4 ★★★★
James Stewart and Anthony Mann team up for their fifth and final western, which boasts striking yet intimidating settings, and tackles masculinity head on. Stewart (above) is – once again – a lone hero with issues, riding into a family feud while pursuing his own vendetta.
Olympus Has Fallen
(2013) 15 ◆ 9PM, 5STAR ★★★
The weaker of the two ‘Die Hard in the White House’ thrillers from six years ago sees one man army Gerard Butler trying to save amiable POTUS Aaron Eckhart (above with Butler) from terrorists.
Windtalkers (2002) 15 ◆
10PM, ITV4 ★★
A film that takes inspiration from a fascinating fact from the Second World War – that the US used Native American languages to add extra complexity to encrypted messages. Unfortunately, the inspiration is turned into a violent and simplistic vehicle for Nicolas Cage (above left).
A Walk In The Woods (2015) 15 ◆
1.55AM, CH4 ★★★
Based on travel writer Bill Bryson’s 1998 book, this stars Robert Redford as Bryson, who sets out on a 2,200-mile trek along the famous Appalachian Trail. He and his companion (a virtually unrecognisable Nick Nolte) might not be as up for the challenge as they think.
