The Bundy family established a homestead in Nevada’s Virgin Valley in 1877 and began to run cattle. But in modern times, the US Bureau of Land Management obtained court orders directing them to pay more than $1m in grazing fees, which led to an armed confrontation between the Bundy family’s supporters and law enforcement.
