Marty and Bernard revive TV bromance

- By Niamh Walsh Marty & Bernard’s Big Adventure will air on RTÉ One next month

THE bromance between Marty Morrissey and Bernard O’Shea is stronger than ever.

The GAA pundit is teaming up with the comedian once again for a second series of their hit TV show, Marty & Bernard’s Big Adventure.

The pair – who struck up a friendship after appearing on RTÉ’s Dancing With The Stars – began filming the three-part series in January and they managed to wrap up just before the nation entered lockdown.

Staff at production company ShinAwil are now finalising the stars’ antics from their editing suites in their living rooms as they work remotely.

‘We did a couple of programmes with them last year. We have three new episodes coming on RTÉ One in May,’ ShinAwil boss Larry Bass told the Irish Mail on Sunday. Last year viewers were introduced to the unlikely duo over two Sunday night broadcasts as they tested out their survival skills and explored the modern man.

Their quest to answer some male conundrums saw them jet to New York where Marty visited his old neighbourhood and tried to get to the bottom of international grooming practices.

In this new series however their feet are firmly planted on Irish soil as they endeavour to lend a helping hand by traversing the country, just two stars in a small car on missions of mercy.

‘We’ve slightly tweaked the show this time, so this time we have given them tasks to do,’ said Mr Bass.

Following last year’s successful series, Marty told RTÉ Entertainment: ‘You want to do things outside your normal zone. It was a challenge and I loved the challenge.’
