GPO RISING PLAY TO BE STREAMED

Olivier award winning Fishamble: The New Play Company, have announced that audiences will have another chance to see Inside The GPO, when it is streamed online this Easter Monday.

Written by Colin Murphy and directed by Jim Culleton,the show was a big success during the 1916 commemorat­ions.

This documentar­y drama, was an opportunit­y to experience the Easter Rising, performed in the main hall of the GPO itself. Audiences witnessed the rebel leadership navigate the perils of the Rising across the five days during which they occupied the GPO.

This is just one of a number of initiative­s in which Fishamble are sharing work and engaging with artists online, while theatres are currently closed.
