Lisa takes to red carpet in UAE as she lands fashion interview gig
SHOWBIZ stalwart Lisa Cannon is hoping that her celebrity and fashion skills will be a hit in the UAE as she has just landed a new gig in the Emirates.
Lisa, who was part of the Xposé troupe of glamorous gals for years, will be hosting a fashion show which will see her interview influential figures in the UK and UAE.
Her new show will also see Lisa field questions from a live audience as she has already lined up the likes of Caroline Rush, chief executive of the British Fashion Council, for her first tête-à-tête.
‘Caroline Rush works with all the publications from Vogue to GQ and with all the top brands,’ says Lisa. ‘She’s a huge deal in fashion.
‘l’ll be interviewing her for 45 minutes and then there’ll be some audience questions from the UAE.
‘It’ll be all fashion designers, curators etc. They’ll ask the questions and I’ll mediate.’
Lisa revealed that the opportunity arose following an interview with Boomtown Rats star Bob Geldof.
‘I recently had a sit-down interview with Bob which went so well that they called me up and asked me to do these interviews too. It’s going to be great.’
Lisa’s new show will air on Saudi Arabian television.
While her new gig has been widely welcomed it remains to be seen how the vocal feminist tows the line when it comes to her broadcasts.
Saudi Arabia is well documented as being oppressive when it comes to women, and only granted them the right to drive two years ago.
