After weeks of working from home and sticking to Government guidelines, more than a few of us probably look a little tired and less radiant. For a sense of normality some have stuck to their usual skin and beauty routines, but if that felt less important of late, it’s quick and easy to get back in gear.

For those who dye their hair and are chomping at the bit to get their roots done there are some root covers on the page today that are very effective to tide you over until you get to the salon.

But for skin we are looking for radiance boosting beauty and it’s as easy as this. If you have a face exfoliator now is a good time to start to incorporate it into your regime once or twice a week to lift away all the dead skin cells that cause dullness. If you have something similar for the body, pop that in the shower to get instantly smoother, softer skin. For both face and body make sure to add moisture afterwards to prevent water loss and dryness. For the face, a hydrating serum feels good and works wonders on the top layers of skin. If you are naturally drier than most follow with a moisturiser and SPF, or one combined.

Dry skin types will also benefit from this sincere hack at this time. When you have cleansed at night and applied serum take your night cream and apply a layer. After this, get a facial oil and pop a few drops into your palms to warm before pressing your flat palms against the skin on the face, neck and decolletage. This seals in all the previous skin care and your skin will look rested and plumped by morning.

If you are more on the oily side, you can go straight from serum to sunscreen in the morning and skip moisturiser, then at night use serum followed by night cream.

With this new routine skin should look bright and radiant once more, but you can go further. The weather has already started to improve and hopefully it will further so why not add a warm glow to skin with a little face self-tan? It’s important not to go full-on just yet, but you could mix a little self-tan into your moisturiser in a 1:3 ratio. Apply to your skin and a gentle golden glow will develop over the next few hours. After self-isolation for a few weeks, no one will ever know, they will just think you are always bright skinned and glowing.

Try mixing a little self-tan into your moisturiser for a gentle golden glow
