Zeta-Jones tries to ape Gwynnie’s Goop

- By Katie Hind

CATHERINE Zeta-Jones is set to rival fellow Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow by launching her own Goop-inspired lifestyle brand.

The Welsh actress will this week launch her Casa Zeta-Jones range featuring vegan shoes, coffee, love spoons and make-up.

Friends say she is hoping her new project will give her something to ‘focus on’ as her children get older. Ms Zeta-Jones, 50, said of her venture: ‘Everything I have designed has truly been a passion project. I wanted to take this passion a step further and create a brand that’s beautiful and luxurious, while still being attainable.’

Her main priority, it is understood, is her range of flat pumps which will sell for a modest £50 (€55) a pair. Described as being ‘made from the finest vegan leather’, she hopes that they will be attractive to ‘woke’ yet fashionconscious women.

Ms Zeta-Jones also has a homewear collection that includes some traditional £52 (€57) Welsh love spoons usually given as gifts for a wedding, anniversary or as a thank-you gift. She also offers dressing gowns, slippers and duvet sets in her collection.

Ms Zeta-Jones, who married Hollywood actor Michael Douglas in 2000, hasn’t starred in a hit movie since Red 2 in 2013. She is the latest star to follow in the footsteps of Ms Paltrow, who in 2008 began her Goop wellness site and went on to sell bizarre products such as a vagina steamer, a vibrator on a necklace and vampire repellent.
