JENNIFER’S 500,000 REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL
RTÉ star Jennifer Zamparelli may be doing a merry jig of her own as her latest accounts reveal the Dancing With The Stars host is just shy of breaking the half-a-million euro mark.
In the past two years the assets of her media company have doubled from €262,193 in 2019 to €468,052 at the end of 2020, a tidy sum to show for over a decade working in the media.
Broadcaster Jennifer, 41, joined RTÉ in 2014, acting as the female foil to the boy-pairing of Bernard O’Shea and Keith Walsh on 2FM’s Breakfast Republic.
The following year Jennifer, together with husband Lauterio Zamparelli, registered her company Stormbound with the Companies Office as a vehicle for her media earnings.
Her Breakfast Republic role provided her with valuable presenting experience and in 2018 she transferred from radio to a prime spot on RTÉ One television when she was announced as the new presenter of the third series of Dancing With The Stars alongside Nicky Byrne.
A year later Jennifer broke away from O’Shea and Walsh when she was offered her own mid-morning radio show on 2FM.
In the five years since she set up Stormbound Limited, the company has been stacking up the cash and her latest accumulated accounts from 2015 to 2020 show she is doing the fandango – financially speaking – with her publicly available filings showing assets totalling €485,379.
Stormbound’s balance sheet reflects a steady year-on-year increase in assets and cash since Jennifer and Lauterio’s first registration. In 2017, the first year to file accounts, Jennifer reported €144,385 earnings for the previous year and after paying €42,677 in tax she was left with net assets of €112,855.
A year later Stormbound got an injection of €104,386 on its books as Jennifer’s RTÉ star rose in tandem with her balance sheet.
Jennifer originally got her big break on BBC reality show The Apprentice in Britain. Speaking on Breakfast Republic about her experience, Jennifer admitted she was completely unprepared for the world of reality TV.
