SAINT PATRICK

With increased understanding in society, mental health is taken more seriously; in Walford, it’s been explored many times over, and Isaac’s schizophrenia is heartbreaking, not least because, in his head, the logic of his behaviour and actions is crystal clear, while being obviously symptomatic of his illness to everyone around him. It’s up to Patrick (pictured, left, with Isaac) to try to calm his son down after Isaac breaks into Ruby’s house and Martin wants to phone the police.

On another worrying note, what’s Chelsea up to with Gray, and how will he react after she breaks a plate that was a gift from

Mia to Chantelle? So long as it’s not one she takes out of the dishwasher, she should be fine; that killer appliance still hasn’t been put on trial. Will Chelsea listen when, at Gray’s drinks event, Laura tells her to run while she can when a drunken Gray embarrasses himself?

She can’t run far with an ankle tag, so my guess is she’ll be around for a while yet.

Talking of embarrassing himself, will it be Groundhog Day again for the hapless Billy when he and Rocky engage in macho one-upmanship? Rocky is a terrific addition to Walford, and the only man who’s made Kaffy brush her hair in a decade, so that’s a major achievement in itself. The best bit of Billy’s day, however, is when Jay, Will and Janet present him with new reading glasses. Hmm. In terms of pushing the boat out, we’re talking dinghy rather than yacht.
