Nadia’s sitcom is proof she’s a chip off the old block
FORMER model Nadia Forde has made the move back to Dublin — and she has just polished off her debut script for a comedy series about her life. After she appeared on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, Nadia, 32, decamped to the UK and moved into acting.
In 2015, she was introduced to Welsh rugby player Dominic Day by her friend Debbie Stringer, the wife of ex-Irish international Peter Stringer. The couple bought a home in London, where Nadia also gave birth to her first daughter, called Wyatt.
But now Nadia, Dom and Wyatt have packed up and returned home to north Dublin where she grew up. Nadia said this weekend that she loves being back. She told the Irish Mail on Sunday: ‘I’m delighted to be back in Ireland. Dom loves Dublin. He’s obviously been here loads over the years but he’s really loving living here.
‘And it’s great that my granny Bernie is getting quality time with Wyatt.’
Nadia’s debut comedy series, The Lido, has its roots in the Irish-Italian chipper culture.
In March she said on Instagram that RTÉ had green-lit the series.
‘Here’s to many salty vinegar Italian chipper drenched dreams. CAN’T WAIT.’
Nadia, of course, hails from Italian stock and her extended family have run fast-food restaurants across the country.
Nadia has been mining granny Bernie, who practically raised her, for stories and dramas.
Nadia’s Italian heritage is a huge part of her life — she married her Welsh husband in her family’s stunning native Puglia region.
She paid tribute at the wedding to her mother, Berenice Paolozzi, who died in 2015, and said her vows in a stunning Oscar de La Renta dress.
