Vivacious Glenda grabs the limelight

-

Since day one, Glenda seemed as if she had been in the show forever, and casting Jodie Prenger was a masterstroke. George’s flamboyant sister wasted no time in getting her feet not just under the table at the Rovers, but on top of it, too — in fact, you can barely see the table for her magnificent presence.

Excited about hosting the pub quiz, she’s furious when Daisy tells her Jenny will be doing it, as after Leo’s left for Canada she’s feeling much better. Who can blame her?

She’s managed to shelve Canada and the insipid Leo in one fell swoop. That’s not just a get-outof-jail-free card, it’s a whole pack. So, is Glenda behind Jenny’s ‘accident’ on the newly mopped floor, causing her to spend the night in A&E? Naturally, in her absence, Glenda wastes no time grabbing the microphone. Thank goodness for newcomer, solicitor DeeDee; she might be able to take some of the load off Adam who, as a solicitor, has the weight of every case on his shoulders. Murder, property, divorce — you name it, he’s the expert. Students should be queueing up to go to whichever law school he attended. Dee-Dee’s first job was to call James’s club to try to negotiate him a good exit deal. Now she’s taken on Stu’s case. Clearly, she went to the same law school as Adam.

Quickly discovering that there was no trace of Stu’s DNA on Charlie’s bag, she says that retesting it will be expensive. Alya, however, is determined to find the cash. From where, pray? Speed Daal has no more than two customers a month. Is Lucy hiding the reason why Stuart no longer wishes to pursue the case? Blimey! Dee-Dee’s not just a solicitor, she’s Inspector Morse, too. Give the woman a free poppadom.

In more Bailey news, Tim buys Aggie a necklace to thank her for help choosing Sally’s anniversary gift.

Please, stop this now; I can see where it’s going and I don’t like it.
