HURLING AIB MUNSTER CLUB SHC QUARTER-FINAL Ballygunner v Sarsfields Walsh Park, Waterford, 13:30

Seeing Ballyhale Shamrocks dethroned in the Kilkenny county final last weekend will only have sharpened the appetite of a Ballygunner team that is aching to get back to Croke Park and avenge last year’s semi-final defeat. A long way to go to that but the Waterford champions can put another dent in the ambitions of the Cork champions.

Verdict: Ballygunner

FOOTBALL GARVEY’S SUPERVALU COUNTY SFC FINAL Mid Kerry v East Kerry Austin Stack Park, 15:30

A pairing to cause all sorts of heated conversations about the place of divisional side in the county championship and whether a restructure is needed. A repeat of last year’s final, one in which a certain David Clifford walked off with yet another Man of the Match award. Hard to see the champions going down.

Verdict: East Kerry

BON SECOURS HOSPITAL GALWAY SFC FINAL Corofin v Moycullen Pearse Stadium, 14:00

A real box-office clash here between two sides with grand designs on Connacht and beyond. Moycullen have continued the winning tradition of Galway sides in the province after Corofin set a new high bar for club football.

Verdict: Moycullen

IRISH WIRE PRODUCTS LTD, LIMERICK SFC FINAL Adare v Newcastle West TUS Gaelic Grounds, 14:00

Adare needed extra time to get past Fr Casey’s while the holders were more convincing in their semi-final against Monaleen with Iain Corbett in fine form. A three-in-a-row beckons.

Verdict: Newcastle West

AIB ULSTER CLUB SFC - ROUND 1 Derrygonnelly Harps v Kilcoo Brewster Park, 15:45

‘How to win friends and influence people’ is not exactly a Kilcoo motto, not after the unseemly challenging of the referee ahead of the Down county final. A siege mentality though seems to suit them just fine.

Verdict: Kilcoo

AIB LEINSTER CLUB SFC QUARTER-FINAL Blessington v Ardee St Mary’s GFC Echelon Park, Aughrim, 14:00

A Blessington side that needed a replay to overcome Rathnew will be wary here against a rested St Mary’s team who toughed it out in the Louth final.

Verdict: St Mary’s

Killoe Young Emmets v St Loman’s Mullingar Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, 14:00

An All-Star nomination followed by a county final win capped a perfect weekend recently for Ronan O’Toole and he is an illustration of the talent St Loman’s have within their ranks.

Verdict: St Loman’s

Naas v Summerhill Hawkfield Kildare Centre of Excellence, 14:00

The flashpoint in which the referee was pushed to the ground at the final whistle overshadowed Summerhill’s gutsy fightback and victory against Tullamore. Another road trip could be a step too far against a Naas side who have been here before.

Verdict: Naas
