DOIREANN Garrihy sealed her engagement to comedian Mark Mehigan this week with a diamond from luxury jewellers Appleby.

The Dancing with the Stars host was positively jumping for joy when her beau popped the question and the newly engaged couple chose an ‘exquisite’ ring from the high-end diamond dealer.

The dazzling engagement ring is a round cushion-cut stone in a gold setting that retails for anywhere between €2,995 to €8,000 depending on the carat weight of the diamond.

The pair posed outside the doors of the store and sharing their delight, they thanked the shop for helping them find the perfect sparkler.

Appleby Jewellers returned the sentiment, sending the in-love couple best wishes on their engagement.

After the ring was duly picked and placed on Garrighy’s engagement finger, it was off to the 5-star Westbury Hotel for celebrations with the entire Garrihy clan, where champers flowed as they toasted the happy news.

The presenter announced her

engagement on Thursday to her Instagram fans. Along with the photo, she wrote: ‘The love of my life’.

Garrihy and Mehigan, who is the host of the comedy podcast The Sunday Roast, confirmed that they were a couple at the end of last year.

The stars had been linked since Garrihy split from her boyfriend of three years last March.

‘Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn’t, there’s no point in dwelling on it,’ the 2FM host told Evoke after the split last summer.

She outlined her list for a potential love, saying: ‘I’m very busy and I love to be busy, so someone who is also busy and loves to be busy – but when you have the downtime you can make the most of it.

‘I mean personality-wise, someone who’s up for the craic and is kind.’

Mehigan also opened up early this year about his struggles with alcohol and how he is taking it one day at a time.

Meanwhile, Mehigan recently celebrated two years of sobriety

‘I’m an alcoholic and I’m very, very, very grateful for every day that I’m sober,’ Mehigan told Goss.ie

He highlighted the importance of seeking assistance for anyone who is struggling with addiction.

‘If you are struggling, just please ask for help, because everything can change.

‘Like I thought getting better was for other people... getting sober was something that other people did, and that I was uniquely f***ed.’

Next month, Garrihy is set to cohost the upcoming season of Dancing with Stars with fellow RTÉ presenter Jennifer Zamparelli.

Now with a wedding on the horizon the soon-to-be-married couple will be moving into Garrihy’s newly renovated Castleknock love-nest.

Garrihy purchased the Dublin home last year and shortly afterward embarked on a total renovation of the house.

But fortunately for her fiancé Mark, he won’t be tasked with any of the heavy lifting.

Influencer Garrihy revealed on her Instagram page that construction company TJ O’Mahoney were on hand with a collaboration on her house project, pitching in by supplying some pricey building materials.

So with her house construction in expert hands the couple can start saving for what is sure to be a celebrity-stacked, glamorous and glitzy wedding.
