Final pairs announced as dance novices partner up with the pros

- By Colm McGuirk

THE young couple among the pro dancers could find themselves squaring off in the latter stages of Dancing with the Stars, as their celebrity partners are officially revealed today.

Jillian Bromwich and Montel Hewson are partners on and off the dancefloor – with an under-21 world title to their name – and both will make their debut as instructors in the new series of DWTS, starting in January.

Jillian will put actor Rory Cowan through his paces, while Montel will pair up with social media star and radio presenter Miriam Mullins.

Cowan is familiar to millions from Mrs Brown’s Boys and now appears as John Bosco Walsh in Fair City.

Corkonian Mullins has more than two million TikTok followers and will be hoping younger viewers will support her in the public vote. Also among the new pro dancers is Simone Arena, who will partner with the Belfast drag queen Blu Hydrangea. Former Miss World Rosanna Davison will take to the floor alongside pro Stephen Vincent, while veteran newsreader Eileen Dunne will pair with Robert Rowinski.

David Whelan from Eurovision entrants Wild Youth dances with Salome Chachua.

Six-time Paralympic gold medallist Jason Smyth will hope his sprint speed translates to the dancefloor, as he pairs with Karen Byrne. Ireland’s Fittest Family presenter Laura Fox will be guided by Denys Samson, while Ireland AM presenter Katja Mia will dance with Ervinas Merfeldas.

Jockey Davy Russell will be put through his paces by Kylee Vincent, and Shane Quigley Murphy, who plays Gareth Boyle in Fair City, will pair with Laura Nolan.
