Supermodel overboard! But Thai break leaves Rosie and Jason on the crest of a wave
WHEN your fiance is an action hero film star, trying to keep up with him can leave you all at sea.
So when model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley followed Jason Statham to go hoverboarding off Thailand, it seemed inevitable she was heading for a fall – and no surprise as she tumbled into the waves.
The mother-of-two, however, laughed and quickly climbed back to stand on her board and join Statham, 56, in the latest beach craze.
Not that the actor had any worries – he has just defeated the world’s biggest shark in his latest blockbuster film Meg 2: The Trench.
The couple, who have been together for 14 years, are on a New Year break in the island of Phuket with their children Jack, six and Isabella, who will be two next month.
It is the second time the couple have seen in New Year in Thailand, with Statham proposing to lingerie model Rosie, aged 36, there in 2015.
They reportedly don’t plan to wed anytime soon, and just enjoy being betrothed.
Rosie, who became a Victoria’s Secret Angel model at 23, went hoverboarding in a North Sea zip-neck scalloped swimsuit from high-end Los Angeles-based Marysia, worn over a strappy black bikini. Statham walked ahead of Rosie to hire their boards, wearing a long-sleeve T-shirt and a camouflage hat to protect his head from the sun. A hoverboard session costs about €175 a go but it was money well spent as both were soon standing and gliding over the waves with ease – after Rosie had suffered her initial dunking.
The family live in a £7.5m (€8.7m) townhouse in Chelsea, west London, which they moved to from their $17m (€15.5m) mansion in Malibu, Los Angeles, in 2021.
Rosie, born in Plymouth, and Statham, born in Shirebrook, Derbyshire, decided to move home to Britain after missing family and friends during the Covid pandemic.
Meg 2: The Trench grossed €360m worldwide. Jason’s new film The Beekeeper is out this month.
