LOUIS WALSH’S newest boyband have got some stellar career advice in their quest for Eurovision glory – from a Spice Girl.

Walsh is pulling out all the stops to ensure Next In Line, follow in the footsteps of his previous supergroups Boyzone and Westlife.

This includes introducing his five proteges who range in age from 18-22 – Conor O’Farrell, from Meath; Dubliners harry O’Connell and Conor Davis; Neung Kelly, from Carlow, and Joshua Regala from Navan – to singer Mel C, one fifth of one the most successful pop acts of all time.

an excited harry told the Irish Mail on Sunday: ‘We had the opportunity to speak with Mel C from the Spice Girls the night of our performance on the Late Late Show where she gave us great words of wisdom.’

Mel C told the band to support each other – and to give it their all.

‘[She said] “There will be good times, and great times, but there’ll also be not-so great times, so you need to stick by each other, no matter what. You just have to just give it everything you’ve got – and listen to Louis!”’

Next In Line are one of six Eurosong finalists vying to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Competition in Malmo.

Their debut track, Love Like Us, got its first airing last week, but harry said the group ‘have been sitting on this song for over a year’.

‘We can’t tell you the amount of times we have asked Louis to release it but he told us to keep waiting. It all makes sense now.’

Conor added: ‘We are trying not to get too ahead of ourselves, but we think it’s time Ireland gets back to its winning way in the Eurovision.’
