Brighton’s £8m Valentin gift

• BRIGHTON have confirmed the signing of Valentin Barco from Boca Juniors for £7.8m.

The 19-year-old, who can play in defence or midfield, has signed a contract until June 2028. Barco is with Argentina U23s at the CONMEBOL Olympic qualificat­ion tournament and had his medical at the national team training ground.

• SHEFFIELD UNITED are closing on a £2m deal for Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Ivo Grbic. Manager Chris Wilder is also keen on signing Mason Holgate who is on loan at Southampto­n from Everton. The Blades are also looking to sign Irish teenage full-back Sam Curtis. l TOTTENHAM winger Ivan Perisic has joined former club Hajduk Split on a salary of just 86p a month.

The 34-year-old Croatian is recovering from a knee injury but has joined on loan for the rest of the season. Spurs remain in talks with Club Bruges for 18-year-old winger Antonio Nusa.

• MANCHESTER UNITED midfielder Dan Gore, 19, is closing on a loan move to League One side Port Vale until the end of the season.

• BURNLEY forward Darko Churlinov is returning to former club SCHALKE on loan with an option to make the move permanent for £3m. The 23-year-old has not made an appearance for Burnley this season but has played twice for his country North Macedonia. He is expected in Germany today for a medical.

• LEICESTER CITY will step up their bid to sign midfielder Stefano Sensi from INTER MILAN this week. The 28year-old will cost around £1.75m.

HULL CITY have signed Croatian goalkeeper Ivor Pandur from Fortuna Sittard for an undisclose­d fee. The 23-year-old has agreed a three and-ahalf-year deal, with the club holding the option of an additional year.

Arsenal target, 17-year-old defender Jorrel Hato, is in talks to sign a new contract with Ajax.

Cardiff City are in talks with Valarenga for striker Andrej Ilic, 23. Brentford have beaten off competitio­n from Crystal Palace and Wolves for Bromley midfielder Ben Krauhaus, 19, in a £200,000 deal. Wolves defender Yerson Mosquera is to join clubmate Goncalo Guedes on loan at Villarreal.
