RORY TO KEEP ON WALTZING

-

HE was the first celebrity contestant to be booted off this year’s Dancing with the Stars – but actor Rory Cowan says his dance journey is only just beginning. The Fair City star revealed he will keep on getting lessons from his pro partner Jillian Bromwich, despite his elimination from the series.

He told the Irish Mail on Sunday: ‘I am going to keep up the dancing. Jillian is going to keep on teaching me. I get invited to balls and all other types of events and I’ve never been able to get up and dance. So now I have the ear of a world champion dancer, so I’m definitely going to keep it up.’

Despite being the first contestant to waltz off the dance floor, the former Mrs Brown’s Boys star insisted he has no regrets about taking part in the show.

‘I had a marvellous time. I loved the whole experience,’ he said.

‘I went on the show to learn a new skill. It’s why I did [reality show] The Restaurant a few years ago; I did it because I was learning something new.

‘My teachers on The Restaurant were two of the top chefs in Ireland.

I had advice on how to cook better, and what I was doing wrong. I had advice from Marco Pierre White and

Tom Doorley.’

‘It was the same with Dancing with the Stars. I was being coached by a world champion. There was nothing bad about it. There was no downside to it. I loved every single minute.’

Rory said dancing the Viennese Waltz with Jillian was his standout moment from the show. ‘I loved doing The Viennese Waltz – it was fantastic just to get out there and do that dance,’ he said.
