Tremendous win in the first round of the Novice champ. With the result in doubt right up to the final whistle. The game swung from end to end with both sides looking to have pulled clear at different times during the game. Fossa leading us a merry dance for most of the first half. Until the final 10 mins when we began to get a grip on the game and then in the final 5mins first Paul Kennelly and then Jim Cremin found the net. HT Fossa (1-6). Ballyd (2-6). Supporters were only settling in for the second half when Thomas Kennelly made all the running before finishing low into the left hand corner of the Fossa net. We had hardly time to draw our breath when Jim Cremin followed up on a high ball in around the goal mouth that the goalie fumbled and Jim was on hand to finish to the net. Fossa (1-6) Ballyd (4-6). No way back from here! Fossa had other ideas as they went about reeling us back in. First a goal followed by couple of converted frees. Then with the score at 2-10 to 4-9 Fossa were awarded a penalty and it was back to a two point game inside the final five minutes. In those nail biting minutes we managed to make it a three point game and that’s how it finished. Fossa (3-10) Ballydonoghue (4-10).
