O’NEILL’S CROTTA U-14 COUNTY LEAGUE: Crotta†s U14†s began the defence of their County League D1 title on Saturday 21st March travelling to play Ballyduff. Considerin­g the condition of the pitch was questionab­le the two teams served up an exciting game with the home side finally crossing the finishing line with a two point win. Crotta who were leading by a goal at half time (2-05 to 1-05) and eventually ran out winners on a score line of Crotta 7.8 to Ballyheigu­e†s 1.10 with a superb second half display. This weekend, Saturday 25th the squad travel to Kilgarvan to compete in the A division of this year†s Feile. Their group consists of three teams with the first game against local rivals and 2014 Feile champions Abbeydorne­y, throw in is at noon with their final game against hosts Kenmare/Kilgarvan at 1pm. The top two teams qualify for the semi-finals to be played on Saturday the 2nd May, Final Bank holiday Monday 4th May. Best of luck to both players and mentors.
