CUP ROUND-UP

IN the John Murphy Cup St Brendan’s Park welcomed Inter Kenmare to Christy Leahy Park and triumphed thanks to goals from David Fiado, Jamie Fitzgerald, with a classic back heel and John O’Connor. They will meet either Killarney Celtic or Camp Juniors in the final.

The Park will also be represented in the Shield semi-final as the Bs defeated Camp Juniors 2-0. Matt Healy and David Callaghan got the goals. KILLARNEY Athletic booked their place in the John Joe Naughton Under 13 Shield semi-finals with a 6-1 win over Park B.

Goals from Owen Benson 2, Eoghan O’Sullivan, Robert O’Shea, Emmet Finnan and Damien Switzer saw Athletic through to the last four where they will meet Mastergeeha. Ballyheigue await the winners in the final. LISTOWEL Celtic’s ability to produce top quality female soccer players continues with Aoife Horgan having another great season. She hit all five goals as her Celtic beat Killarney Celtic in the girls semi-final. Listowel Celtic will play Killarney Athletic in the decider.

In the Tom Hayes semi-final Camp Juniors and Tralee Dynamos played out a nine goal thriller with the sides level at four all after full-time. In extra-time there was only on goal and it went Camp Juniors’ way.

This was the clubs first time getting to a cup final and now they await the winner of the other semi-final between Killorglin and The Park to see who they meet in the final, which will be a big day for the club. Jack Farrell with two and one each from Killian Falvey and Colm Moriarty plus an OG saw Camp through while for Dynamos David Rogers hit three and Cody Dauti the fourth.

The Shields were introduced to give teams outside the big sides their day in the sun and the Tom Hayes Shield final will certainly provide this as Killarney Celtic C face Listowel Celtic C.

The Killarney side were first through as they won a nail biter against Inter Kenmare 6-5 on penalties in mid-week. The game finished one-all after extra time.

Listowel Celtic C and St Bernards are vying for league honours and so there was never going to be much between them in their Cup semi-final. And so it proved in a five goal thriller.

Aaron Malik and Oisin Maunsell scored for the Saints, but goals from Ted Moloney, Michael Nolan and Andrew Murphy saw Listowel Celtic take their place in the final.

Under 16 TWO sides that know each other well will contest the Tucker Kelly Cup final. Tralee Dynamos were first to book their place as they defeated Camp Juniors 3-0. Rian O’Sullivan and Dillon Robinson were the scorers.

Killarney Celtic and Killorglin needed penalties to separate them in the second semi-final. Michael Potts put Celtic ahead before Ciaran Kennedy equalised for Killorglin.

On to penalties and Celtic hit all five with Niall O’Donoghue, Mark Harnett, David Clifford, Lorcan Monagle and Michael Potts scoring. For Killorglin Cian Bradley, Conor Standen, Gary Mathews and Ciaran Kennedy were the scorers for the unlucky losing side.

The Park, meanwhile, made the trip to South Kerry a winning one in the Tucker Kelly semi-final. Thomas Burke scored twice with Ciaran Killeen, Dylan O’Sullivan and Aaron Ward all getting one each. Pierce McGill replied for Iveragh United. Ballyhar and Fenit will meet to see who plays The Park.
