The monthly Restoration Collection will take place on next weekend.
The boys and girls of second class in the local National School will receive their First Holy Communion on Sunday next. The mass will take place at 12 noon. There will be no 10.30am mass on the day. The adult church choir will have a practice on Wednesday at 7.00pm.
A meeting re Diocesan Synod will take place on Thursday at 8.00pm in the Devon Inn Hotel, all welcome.The anniversary mass for the late Peg White, Glendarragh took place on Saturday evening last and the anniversary mass for Séamus Kelly, Barnagh was celebrated on Sunday.
On Saturday evening next the anniversary mass for Bridie and William Forde will take place. Beannacht Dé ar anamacha na marbh.
BUÍOCHAS
The organisers of the church gate collection on last weekend in aid of Enable Ireland Limerick Centre wish to thank sincerely all who contributed. A total of €500 was donated. Míle buíochas.
TIDY TOWNS
A meeting of Templeglantine Tidy Towns committee will take place at Halla Inse Bhán, 8.00pm on Wednesday, April 22. The fence and the seats at the Halla car park look very well after receiving a fresh coat of paint. The Grotto was cleaned and painted also. Well done to those who did all that work during the past few weeks
COMHALTAS
Entries from craobh members for Fleadh Cheoil Luimnigh have now been processed and forwarded to Co Board. The county Fleadh takes place this year in Glin on May 29 – June 1. Comhaltas Annual Congress, to which all branches are asked to send two delegates, takes place at Cultúrlann na hÉirean, Dublin on May 2-3. Applications for the Comhaltas Campa Samhraidh run by the local craobh are now being accepted. Many craobh members will be taking part in various events at Fleadh by the Feale on the May bank holiday weekend. MUSIC SUMMER CAMP
The Comhaltas Campa Samhraidh will take place at Halla Inse Bhán on July 20-25. It caters for those in the 7-14 age bracket and those attending should have at least one year’s experience of music. Céilí dancing, singing, Gaeilge and Irish culture will be catered for along with traditional music. Applications forms are now available. Enquiries to 087 9654451 or 069 84039.
FLEADH BY THE FEALE
The annual Fleadh by the Feale will take place over the May bank holiday weekend and once again has an attractive programme of events catering for all age groups with open air entertainment, music and singing workshops, storytelling, bone playing competitions, pub sessions, a céili, Oíche Ghaelach and of course the visit of the famed Kilfenore Céilí Band for the Sunday night concert. The concert will also feature the very talented Coláiste Íde agus Iosef music group.
