Summer camps offer a world of options
WITH summer and the school holidays just around the corner most parents, especially those at work, will be thinking of how to keep their little ones occupied and entertained during the long summer months.
As such now is the perfect time to start thinking about summer camps and what sort of activities and experiences the children might enjoy taking part in over the holidays.
In days gone by summer camps were often restricted to sports and outdoor activities but in recent years the number and variety of camps have swelled dramatically offering parents and children the choice of almost any activity imaginable.
The choice of camps is simply massive and better still there are camps to suit every budget and schedule from one or two day programmes to week long events.
Sporting camps alone offer a huge variety of options. These range from more traditional sports like GAA, soccer, rugby, athletics and tennis to more adventurous activities like watersports, surfing, nature and even climbing and hillwalking camps for older children.
Aside from sporting and activity based camps there are many other options such as drama, stage and singing camps for children who enjoy or might like to experience performing on stage or art, writing and craft camps for children with more artistic leanings.
With such a variety of camps available you’ll certainly have no problem finding one to suit your children’s interests, indeed with so many on offer you may even have trouble narrowing down your options.
The variety also means there is usually a camp on every week of the summer meaning timing is also not an issue as there will always be something of interest available.
Of course with a few weeks of school left before the summer holidays many schools are also considering organising a school tour to round off the term on a fun and entertaining note.
There are a huge range of options available across Kerry and Cork and most attractions will offer generous and affordable discounts to school groups.
