SEAWEED WEEKEND
The Ballybunion Community Forum Tourism & Marketing Team is planning the Wild Atlantic Seaweed Weekend on the 5th, 6th & 7th of June. The Weekend will celebrate everything good about seaweed…. from seaweed in cookery, in healthy living, in beauty products to soaking in the age old tradition of our famous seaweed baths. Our weekend will also celebrate other bounty from the sea like our local Shannon Dolphin, periwinkles, mussels, oyster, fish and sea salt.

Community Centre/Beale GAA Lotto Results Sunday 19th April draw was held in The Exchange Bar. The numbers drawn were 6,9,16 & 17. There was no winner of the â €3200 Jackpot. The lucky dip winners are: €40 Noel nash c/o Post Office, €30 Tom O’Neill GAA Annual Ticket, €20 Tim Lynch c/o Ocean Bar, 5 Free Tickets Sinead Breen Asdee c/o the exchange Bar. Next weeks draw will be held in Kilcoolys Bar on Sunday night 26th April at 10pm. Jackpot is €3250.

CAR BOOT SALE
The Car Boot Sale will take place next Sunday 26th April in the Community Centre from 10-2. PPP down for a cuppa and a browse. You’d never know the bargain you may find! CASHEN VALE BOXING CLUB
Ryan Downey, our newly crowned national boxing champion received a hero†s welcome when he returned home to Ballybunion last Saturday night. Family Friends and Fans assembled at a reception in the Stagger Inn to congratulate and have their photo taken with the Champion. This was the 11th National title won by the club since it was established in 1996, and is now well ahead of any other club in the County. We would like to congratulate Ryan and all the boxers that trained very hard for these Championships and won medals. We also wish to thank everyone that helps the club in many different ways, and help make it the success it is. Ryan has been selected on the Irish Junior Boxing team for upcoming international bouts.
ACTIVE RETIREMENT
Ballybunion Active retirement take to the road again for another day out on Wednesday April 29th. The bus departs Ballybunion Garda Station at 9am and the first stop will be Foynes in county Limerick for tea & scones. From there the group will then travel to Killaloe where they will partake in a boat trip around Lough Derg for an hour before lunch at the Lakeside Hotel. Anybody interested in travelling should contact a member of the committee.
