Dunworth returns with TT win

THE latest round of the iBike Kerry Time Trial League saw Denis Dunworth taking the win in 26.07.

Denis has been the class racer in the series and was back to winning ways after a virus put him out before the Nationals.

The result of the 5th round was: 1. Denis Dunworth (Moda Kingdom Endurance) 26.07; 2. Tom Gentleman (Manor West iBike) 27.30; 3. Micheal O’Shea (Killorglin CC) 27.41.

Currow’s Suzanne and Angie O’Sullivan battled it out for the win with Sinead McCarthy of Sliabh Luachra taking 3rd. The winning time was 31.55.

The U-16 section was a battle of Tralee Manor West iBike teammates Kieran Coggins who won in 29.31 and Robbie Scott who took second in 30.17.

Sean Barrett is riding high on confidence and he was the quickest of the big field of u14’s. He crossed the line in 15.27. He was followed home by his Tralee Manor West iBike teammate Eoin Maloney (15.57) and Killorglin’s Tadgh O’Shea in 16.54

The spread of talent at U-12 level was evident when three different clubs were represente­d in the top 3.

Aona O’Shea from Killorglin clocked the best time in the category in 18.50 Kingdom’s Adam Lenihan took 2nd in 19.01 with Killarney CC’s Shane Galvin 3rd in 20.31

Road Race this Thursday

THE Clubs of Kerry Road Race League has only a couple of rounds remaining. This Thursday night Lee Strand CC are the hosts with the action in Kilflynn from 6.45pm.
