THE MUSIC CONTINUES AT FLEADH NA MUNHAN ‘16
LISTOWEL will continue to enjoy this year’s Fleadh na Mumhan until this Sunday, July 12.
Listowel is widely renowned as the home of the Fleadh Cheoil and is one of the most important weekends on any trad lover’s calendar.
This year’s Fleadh will include a wide selection of outdoor and indoor concerts and events, céilithe, workshops and sessions while Fleadh competitors from the six counties of Munster will compete for a place in the 2016 All-Ireland Fleadh in Ennis.
US DANCE TROUPE PAY A VISIT TO BALLYBUNION
DANCERS from Tutterow Dance school in Florida will perform a free show at Ballybunion’s Tintean Theatre on Monday next, July 18 at 6pm.
The 17 young dancers will be performing a very entertaining 30-minute show-dance program for the tourists and Ballybunion people alike.
The school is on a performance tour of Europe, visiting Ireland, England, France and Germany.
They will also perform at the Disney Resort Paris as a highlight of their tour. Many of the students have Irish ancestors and are looking forward to entertain the crowds.
KIERAN GOSS READY TO PLAY TWO GIGS IN KERRY
SINGER/SONGWRITER Kieran Goss continues his second annual ‘Home For the Summer’ tour with two Kerry gig next week. HE takes to the stage at Tech Amergin, Waterville, next Wednesday, July 20, followed by a performance the following night at St John’s Theatre, Listowel.

BRENDAN GRACE GETS US LAUGHING IN KILLARNEY
RENOWNED Irish comedian Brendan Grace returns to the Gleneagle Ballroom Killarney this Thursday, July 14, for one of four Kerry gigs this summer.
His latest show features some brand new material and some ‘Old Favourites’ from his vast repertoire over the last 40 years. Tickets cost €25 and the show begins at 9.30pm.
THE LEGENDARY FUREYS RETURN TO KILLARNEY
THE legendary Furey’s perform as part of the Gleneagle Summer Cabaret in Kilarney this Friday night, July 15.
Over their staggering 36 years on the road, the band’s greatest admirers have ranged from their loyal neighbours in Ballyfermot to the top sports people and politicians of the world , including our own President Higgins.

LISA TO ‘EXPOSE’ KERRY’S FASHIONABLE LADIES
TV3 Exposé presenter, Lisa Cannon, will judge the prestigious Dawn Milk Queen of Fashion at Killarney Races, this Thursday, July 14.
Ladies are advised to arrive early to the track and Lisa will be on the lookout for the winner and runners up from 1.30pm-3,30pm.
First prize on the day is a superb trip for two to Paris, while the winner of the most stylish hat will win a trip to Milan.
FIRST EVER TELEGRAPH CABLE FEST IN VALENTIA
THE first Transatlantic Telegraph Cable Festival will take place on Valentia Island, from July 13-17.
The festival will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the first successful transatlantic cable between Valentia Island and Heart’s Content, Newfoundland, laid in 1866 to connect Europe with the new world for the first time.
The festival line-up includes activities for all the family, including fireworks, robotic workshops, a cable swim, and walking and cycling tours. Distinguished historian of the Transatlantic Cable Professor Donard De Cogan, will also launch his book, They Talk Along the Deep – 100 Years of Cable History.

DONAL COURTNEY’S NEW PLAY ON ST JOHN’S STAGE
DUBLIN-BASED Killarney actor Donal Courtney, new play ‘God Has No Country’ takes to the stage at St John’s Listowel next Tuesday, July 19.
The play tells the story of the struggles encountered by Kerry man, Monsignor Hugh O’ Flaherty and his colleagues in Rome during the Second World War.
ACTION ON LAND AND SEA AT VENTRY REGATTA
There’s more than currach racing on offer at Ventry Regatta which starts this Saturday with an historical talk, followed by a children’s treasure hunt in afternoon and a pub quiz in Quinn’s at 9pm.
On Sunday there’s a sandcastle building competition at 1.30pm, family sports on the beach from 3pm, naomhóg racing from 1.45pm, and a horseshoe throwing competition in the evening.
