Kerry camogie golf classic is a huge success

A huge thank you to everyone who supported and took part in last Saturday’s fundraisin­g Golf Classic at Ballyheigu­e Golf Club. A special word of thanks to John and Marian Barrett of Ballyheigu­e Castle Golf Club for their work and Fexco of Kilorglin and The Forge Bar Causeway who kindly allowed us to hold our presentati­on of prizes on the night.

The winners of our Golf Classic were John Leen, David Leen, Pat Dillane and Terry O’Connor on 91 points. Second place were James O’Dowd, Lorraine Canty, Denis O’Regan and Gemma O’Dowd on 90 points. Third place were John Lohan, Frank Donovan, Brendan Harty and Tony O’Connor on 90 points.

Prize for the Longest Drive was Lorraine Canty. Prizes for nearest the Pin was won by John Gibbons. OUR U-8 & U-10s participat­ed in a very successful blitz in Causeway on Saturday morning last. Cillard will have an U8 & U10 blitz in Kilmoyley on Saturday, August 27.

More details next week. CILLARD’S U-14 Feile champions were introduced to the crowd at half time of the Kilmoyley versus St Brendan’s County Senior Hurling Championsh­ip semi-final. Well done to the girls and their mentors. A big thanks to those that supported our collection at St Mary’s Church Listowel on Sunday and Monday. TRALEE Parnells Big Blitz Day is coming soon. To kick off All-Ireland Hurling Final weekend, Tralee Parnells will host a Hurling and Camogie Big Blitz day on Saturday, September 3, at John Mitchels GAA Grounds.
