KDYS launches new look Tralee youth cafe

-

CALLING all teenagers! Looking for something to do and somewhere to go in Tralee?

The Kerry Diocesan Youth Service (KDYS) Youth Café in Denny Street, Tralee, was officially re-launched on Friday.

The youth café has recently undergone a major refurbishment and the KDYS are keen for teens living in the Tralee area to come along, have a look, join existing groups or start a new one.

A group of young people who use the centre felt that the youth café could do with a lick of paint and they put together a wishlist of what their dream youth café would look like.

They achieved all this and more. Working together with an interior designer they have created a youth-friendly space that is contemporary, vibrant and fresh.

It is a place where young people can meet with their friends, play pool, hang out, watch movies, try new activities and have some fun.

The KDYS runs five youth cafés as well as supporting nearly 40 youth clubs and is committed to providing safe, youth spaces across the diocese. They are a charity that has been supporting young people in Kerry for over 40 years.

KDYS would like to thank everyone who helped in the completion of this project, including Kerry Education and Training Board, the Department of Children and Youth Affairs, and Kerry County Council. For more information see www. kdys.ie or call in for a look.
