Bikes for DS
BALLYSEEDY Home and Garden Centre was a hive of activity at the weekend as it hosted a family fun day to raise funds for the Kerry Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland.
The event – held on Saturday – also saw the official launch of the charity partnership between the Tour de Munster Cycle and Down Syndrome Ireland’s various Munster branches.
To mark the occasion, the Tour De Munster’s annual Partnership Cycle kicked off at Ballyseedy and saw a large group of cyclists head west from Tralee and travel to Camp and Castlemaine before looping back to Tralee.
By the time they returned to Ballyseedy Home and Garden Centre the party was in full swing with hundreds of children enjoying games, clowns, entertainment, bouncy castles and face painting.
It proved to be a tremendous day with a huge number of families from all over North Kerry coming along to enjoy all the fun and games.
2017 will be the eighth year that the Tour De Munster – a four-day 600km cycle around the six counties of Munster – will raise funds for Down Syndrome Ireland’s branches in the province.
This year’s tour – which will involve over 100 amateur cyclists – starts on Thursday August 10 and will come to a close on Sunday August 13.
