Celebrating fifty years of the Community Games in Dublin
COMMUNITY Games was founded in 1967 – 50 years ago – and we are still going strong.
The National Finals will be next Saturday, May 6 in the National Sports Campus Abbotstown, Dublin. Kerry will have 194 competitors competing representing 30 areas across the county:

They will be participating in badminton, basketball, draughts, futsal, gymnastics, judo, marathon, mixed distance relays, cross country, table quiz and swimming.
The main objective of Community Games is to encourage children to participate in sports and cultural events in a healthy and productive way. Our organisation is child-centred and the focus is on participation rather than winning. Children are encouraged to take part in friendly rivalry, in a fun and healthy way. To qualify for the National Festival individual participants must first compete at an area, then at county and sometimes at provincial level. 7,000 children compete in the National Festivals every year
On Saturday May 6 the National Sports Campus will host their largest event to date when the first of two Aldi Community Games Festivals this year takes place. The National Sports Campus and the National Aquatic Centre will have over 2,800 participants arriving on the day all hoping for gold, and bringing glory to their county and local community/area.
The first events kick off at 09:30 am.
Make sure to leave plenty of time for your arrival at the Campus. Check out the website for map, video and directions to the Campus.
