DARKNESS INTO LIGHT

Saturday, May 6, saw over 1,100 members of the London Irish community come together to raise awareness about suicide and self-harm. The Darkness into Light London walk took place at the Clayton Crown Hotel, Cricklewood for the fourth year running. The walkers began their journey at the hotel and then proceeded to Gladstone Park in the heart of the Cricklewood community. The walk was led by London Rose Emma MurphyO’Connor, Bible Code Sundays band members Ronan McManus and Enda Mulloy, Catherine Hennessy of icap, members of the DIL London committee and representatives from the Clayton Crown hotel. Tara Cronin, Chair of the Darkness into.

Light London Walk said; ‘We have estimated that over 1,100 participants have taken part i the walk this morning. We simply can’t believe the momentum that the walk is generating every year. We have to thank all of our volunteers from the marshals to the registration administrators to the T-shirt collection team. Without you all this would have been impossible. We would also like to thank the staff and management team at the Clayton Crown Hotel. They are a fantastic support year after year. Lastly, I have to thank Pieta House and icap. Our hardwork goes towards supporting these charities but without their support the walk wouldn’t have such a profound purpose.’The money generated from the walk is donated to Pieta House and icap to help support their counselling services for people at risk.
