SOCIAL DANCING

Social dancing continues in the hall in Ballyhahil­l every Monday night at 8.30. This is an ideal opportunit­y for people to get back to social dancing again. So come along for a great night’s enjoyment. Everyone welcome.

TESCO COMMUNITY FUND

People are requested to continue to support the Abha Bhan Parish Park Building Fund by collecting their blue tokens in Tesco’s Supermarke­t in Newcastle West and placing them in ‘The Blue Token Cylinder’ for the next eight weeks.

Peg Prendevill­e will be on holidays for the month of May. People can email rosemarybr­adley@eircom.net with news for the parish notes till Peg returns. Alternativ­ely drop a note in to Fr Austin or Bridget Healy before 6 p.m. Thursday evenings.

Best wishes to the children of Loughill National School, who will be receiving their first Holy Communion in Loughill Church this Saturday, May 13. The Ballyhahil­l children will receive their First Holy Communion the following Saturday, May 20.

FEEDBACK ON PARISH NOTES

Following on from the feedback on the parish notes it appears people would like to see more local news. They want the times and dates of upcoming events, matches etc. But unless we receive the news from the various clubs and committees we cannot print them. So we invite all the clubs to send in their news and we will do our best to include them in the parish notes every week.

ABBEYFEALE’S ANNUAL DOG SHOW

Abbeyfeale’s annual dog show will take place at the town park in Abbeyfeale at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 21,

People who have been the victim of anti-social behaviour are advised to make a written complaint to the Garda because the most effective way of achieving results is to create a paper trail so that the Gardaí have a record of complaints.

Monitored alarm system people over 65 years living alone are entitled to receive a monitored alarm system. The free equipment is provided by Pobal but there will be an annual monitoring fee to be paid yearly to the installing company which is currently in the region of €65. If you do not have a land line the company will organise a sim card for a mobile phone for a monthly fee of approx. €12 on top of the monitoring fee. If you are a victim of or have witnessed domestic abuse then go to whatwouldy­oudo.ie.

AFTERNOON TEA DANCE

The last of the afternoon tea dances for this season takes place at Fr Casey’s Clubhouse in Abbeyfeale on Sunday, May 21ST. dancing to Noel Cronin.
