There was no winner in last week’s Mountcollins AFC lotto. Numbers one nine 15 19. Lucky dips Luke Palmer, Mountcollins; Patrick Collins, Caherhayes, Abbeyfeale; Denny McCarthy, Mountcollins; Maryanne Moloney, Brosna and Shelia Lane, Abbeyfeale. Promoters prize Brendan Audsley. This week’s jackpot will be €5,900.

CARD GAME

Three teams tied for first place at last week’s card game and they divided the prizemoney. Team (1) Jack Sullivan, Dan Reidy, Liam Lane. Team (2) Florence O’Connell, Noel Murphy, John O’Connell. Team (3) Eamonn Sheehan, Connie Lenihan, John Murphy.

The winners of the table prize were Dan Brosnan, Peter O’Mahony and John Lyons. The door prizewinner was Joan O’Grady with raffle prize going to Mike O’Connor, John O’Connell, Connie Lenihan, Noel Murphy and Tom Lenihan.

There are just two nights remaining in this seasons card game before the summer break. At the end of this week’s game there will be tea and refreshments.

The game will commence at 9 p.m.

The final game will be held on May 18 and is a fundraiser for the Mountcollins Community Response Group.

CEILI

This month’s ceili in Hall Tadhg Gaelach, Tournafulla will be held on this Friday, May 12, at 9.30 p.m.

RECENT DEATH

Sympathy is extended to the relatives of Mary O’Sullivan, West End, Mountcollins, who passed away at the Lir Nursing Home, Tournafulla during the past week. A native of Co Roscommon, Mary was pre-deceased by her husband Jackie. Her remains were interred in the adjoining cemetery on Thursday last after Requiem Mass in the local Church. May she rest in peace.

Sympathy is also extended to the relatives of Davy Lynch, formerly of Brosna, who passed away in the UK and his remains were laid to rest in Mountcollins cemetery last week. May she rest in peace.

GAA LOTTO

The numbers drawn in last week’s Mountcollins/Tournafulla GAA clubs lotto were 7, 22, 23 and 28. There was no winner of the jackpot. Winners of the lucky dip were Mike O’Connor, Brosna; Miranda Ward, Tournafulla; Caroline Finnegan, Tournafulla and Margie Curtin, Tournafulla. Promoters prize to Delia Ward. This week’s jackpot will be €2,000.

INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL

Mountcollins lost out to Gerald Griffins 0-13 to 1-9 in round two of the County Intermediate Football Championship in Newcastle West on Saturday evening.

COLLECTION

There will be a church gate collection on Saturday, May 27, in Mountcollins for the upkeep of the Grotto and for the Tidy Towns group in preparation for this year’s competition. This is our only source of funding and all your support is very much appreciated.
