The annual Mass in St John’s Cemetery will be held on Friday, June 9, at 7.30 p.m.

The Community Centre/Beale GAA lotto Monday, May 1, was held in the Bunker Bar. The numbers drawn were 6, 7, 19 and 26 and there was no winner of the €2,950 jackpot. MEN’S SHED
The monthly meeting of the Men’s Shed will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9 next, all members are requested to attend. Our workshop is continuing to produce high quality bird, bat and flowerboxes as well as outside steps and decking for mobile and holiday homes etc, we are also available for all furniture refurbishment and general repairs at very low prices. We appreciate the support of the community, we are open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or contact 087 6566507.
We urge all readers to view the YouTube short video which was made recently by the Tralee Men’s Shed to get a better understanding of the work that we do. The mobile HSE vehicle which provides a health check will be available at the Men’s Shed on Monday/Tuesday, 19th/ June 20, everybody is welcome.
CASHEN VALE BOXING CLUB
Kori Goad recorded another impressive victory in the final of the under-16 Munster Girls Boxing Championships in Cork last Sunday. The 14-year-old Cashen Vale teen boxed out of her skin to beat the impressive Aoife Bohan of the St Paul’s boxing club Nenagh, to secure her place in the all-Ireland Championships. This win will be a confidence boost for Kori ahead of her busy schedule which get under way in the National Stadium next Friday.
A Fundraiser Pub quiz in aid of the Cashen Vale Boxing Club will be held in the Railway Bar Ballybunion on this Friday night (May 5) from 9 p.m. Tony Moore will be asking the Questions. Great prizes + a great night’s entertainment assured.
ST JOSEPH’S SECONDARY SCHOOL
Sean Strikes Gold In The Capital. Star Boxer Seán Walsh, first year, St Joseph’s Secondary School, Ballybunion, is congratulated by Principal Mr.O’Donovan, the staff and student. Last Saturday, April 22, during his holidays from school, Seán succeeded in winning first place in the all-Ireland 68kg boxing competition, in the National Stadium, Dublin. Seán showed unbelievable ability and continued success to Seán in his future sporting feats from all the staff and students in school.
Sporting Standards In Camogie Are High. Pride of place goes to Miss Leen, Allanah Whealan and Miss Costello, St Joseph’s Secondary School, Ballybunion. The two teachers and fifth year student have the standards very high for budding camogie players in the school. The three are members of the Kerry County camogie team, who have over the past week’s competed in the Premier Junior inter-county competition. All three played to very high standards. Allanah is also a member of the Kerry County Minor team who beat Wicklow last Saturday, April 22, in the ‘Strike for Gold’ championship final adding an allIreland medal to her collection of sporting prizes. Congratulations to all three and continued success in their sporting lives from all in St Joseph’s.
School Choir: The school choir under the guidance of Mrs Lynch and with guest Miss N Kelly performed at the Confirmation in the local church on Wednesday last, April 26, Congratulations to them on an impeccable performance.
SWIMMERS TRAINING: Wishing every success to Cathal Farrell and Pádraig Lynch, who compete this weekend in University Limerick. Noah Kiely is training hard as he was chosen to represent the Kerry county in swimming in the next week in Dublin. Hoping all goes really well for him.

Donnacha and Bernie Kindlin through their company Study Kerry, have a large number of Spanish students coming to Ballybunion for two to four-week stays during the months of June, July and August and are looking for suitable host families.
