STYLE THRILLS AT THE RACES
AND THE WINNER IS... ARDFERT’S MARGARET HYNES CAHILL, A VISION IN POWDER-BLUE
IT was the turn of yet another Kerry garda to take centrestage in a contest far removed from the business of policing as Ardfert’s Margaret Hynes Cahill was awarded the much-coveted title of Best Dressed Lady at the June Bank Holiday meeting of the Listowel Races.
Competition was keen amid all the head-turning glam of the big day but seeing as her inspiration came from some truly noteworthy ladies Margaret was always onto a winner.
She was a vision in a vintage-style powder blue ensemble inspired by US First Ladies Jackie Kennedy- Onassis and Melania Trump, and carried it off to perfection. Margaret - who also models with the Celia Holman Lee Agency - secured the look at Tralee’s Jasmine Boutique, and was crowned the June First Lady by expert judges Aisling O’Loughlin and Orlagh Winters.
Killorglin meanwhile took the ‘Classy Lady’ title - take a bow Mary Kelliher! Mary was equally dazzling in a headpiece by Carol Kennelly and outfit by MacBees Killarney, with ‘Best Accessory’ title going to Lisa Martin from Tralee for her beautiful bespoke neckpiece by designer Rebekah Wall.
Their prizes were part of an overall €5,000-prize fund for the competition, organised by Listowel fashion queen Eilísh Stack to perfection.
Meanwhile, among the buzzing punters were the 150 Feale Rangers who celebrated the tenth anniversary of their County title in their very own VIP rooms on the Island – the best way possible to relive a glorious moment for North Kerry football.
