-

RUNNERS are being offered the chance to experience one of the hidden gems of The Wild Atlantic way, as for the sixth year in a row the Half on the Head run takes place in Ballyheigue on Saturday June 17 at 11am.

Organisers are urging all interested in taking part to register as soon as possible as places for the spectacular event, which was voted one of the most scenic runs in Ireland, are selling out fast.

The Half Marathon and 10K Run make their way around Kerryhead with stunning views of the Shannon and the West coast of Clare before beginning a beautiful descent into Ballyheigue with breath taking views of Tralee Bay, Mount Brandon, the Maharees, Banna and Ballyheigue Beaches on your right.

The fantastic scenery on offer is open to runners of all shapes and sizes so why not bring the family along and enjoy a fantastic day out.

Walkers are also invited to take part in the event and once again all proceeds go to Charity and Local community Projects.

Race organizer, Mick Harkin says organisers are expecting a “record number” of competitors.

Both the Half Marathon and 10k run are timed and the results will be available immediately after the race, with custom finishers’ medals up for grabs.

There will be a free barbecue and after race party which will take place in Flahive’s bar along with the prize giving ceremony.
