French couple travel the Kingdom via unique birthday treasure trail

-

FRENCH siblings Stéphanie, Adeline, and Erwann fell in love with Kerry on their visit to the Kingdom earlier this year – so much so that they’ve sent their parents on a trip to Kerry with a difference this week.

The Brittany trio visited Tralee last winter to tell The Kerryman that they planned to send their parents – Alain and Blandine – on a unique treasure-hunt holiday around Kerry, and they’ve delivered on that plan.

“They left Roscoe last week and now they’re in Kerry to coincide with my Moms birthday,” Stéphanie said this week. “As a family we’ve had a tough few years with sickness, and we’re very lucky to all still be together, so we wanted to do something huge for them. So, we put together a treasure trail to get them to enjoy everything Kerry has to offer in terms of music, media, food, drink, scenery, and culture.

“We joined them before they left France, giving them a list of clues and instructions to follow. Last night (June 6), for example, they stayed in Hanafin’s Bar in Annascaul, where they will enjoy an Irish Coffee for the first time. Today (June 7), they will dive into an issue of The Kerryman, tour the Dingle area, and have a pint in a Dingle pub!

“They have always wanted to visit Kerry after listening to our stories from our journeys to Ireland and The Kingdom in recent years. Now, by following our clues, which we left at various outlets while we were there during the winter, they can enjoy the nice people, discoveries, landscapes, and cultures of Kerry, just like we did – which includes reading The Kerryman! All they’re sure of is the end-date!”
