JK SPORTS U-12 Division 1

THIS title went down to the last game of the season with Killarney Athletic B needing all three points to leap from Inter Kenmare and take the honours.

And they did just that winning 6-1 thanks to goals from Neil O’Carroll 2, Tom Benson 2, Josh Coffey and Oisin Lynch in what was an excellent team performance. Athletic lost only one game in the League to finish on 27 points just two ahead of Inter Kenmare who pushed them all the way.

Inter Kenmare had gone into the lead earlier in the week with the three points from their game against Fenit.

Division 2

TRALEE Dynamos took the runners up spot behind league winner Dingle Bay Rovers following their 4-2 over Killarney Athletic B. Goals from Paddy McMahon 2, Evan Quilligan and Luke Horgan saw the Tralee side sign off with a win and second spot in the division.

KILLORGLIN and The Park finished level on 25 points after their 10 games. This meant that the title would be decided in a play-off with Killorglin looking to retain their title and this team win their third League in a row.

Killorglin went ahead in the first half thanks to a Darragh O’Grady and led at the break before Cianan Cooney equalised 10 minutes into the second half. Killorglin again took the lead six minutes later with Tom Whittleton scoring but Josh Connolly levelled matters inside the last 10 minutes.

There was no score in extra time with the game being decided on penalties. Credit to Killorglin they scored all their four penalties with Eoghan Hassett, Darragh O’Grady, Jason O’Connor and Adam Owens all hitting the net while the Park had one saved by Adam Carey and one off the crossbar.

Division 2

IN the second division Killorglin B took the points from Killarney Athletic to end the season with a win. But both sides did not trouble League winners Ballyheigue or runners up Killarney Celtic B.

Division 3

THE Park C won the third division the hard way. The defeated closest rivals Fenit last week to draw level with them but importantly they had a game in hand.

That was against MEK and credit goes to the Mid and East Kerry side who put it up to the Park even though they had nothing to play for. Goals from Darragh Cunnane and Jamie O’Shea wrapped up the title for the Tralee side.

WHILE Killarney Celtic had this Division wrapped up a few weeks ago the battle for the second spot went down to the wire. In the end The Park just got enough points to take the runners up position from neighbours Tralee Dynamos.
