TIDY TOWNS JUDGING

Judging for the national competition took place last year in mid June. Many people plan to plant, paint or carry out a general tidy during the summer. If so, you might consider doing it over the coming weeks before the judges arrive. Also, let us continue to encourage family and friends to bin their rubbish responsibly and keep our village beautiful. Tidy Towns are out Tuesday and Thursday evening over the next few weeks. If anybody has some spare time over the next few weeks, please come out and help. Meeting in Churchyard at 7pm.

LENAMORE NS

The concert held in the Parish Hall, Ballylongford to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Lenamore National School was truly an enjoyable occasion. The audience was treated to a wide variety of entertainment which included singing, music, dancing, storytelling and magic. Also the pupils, who were County Champions in the Scór na bPáistí competition, performed their production of ‘An Bradán Feasa.’ Special thanks is extended to Paddy Kennelly, Bryan Murphy, Pat O’ Donoghue(Sylvano), Maurice O’ Keeffe, Kevin O’ Neill and of course our very talented pupils. We are very proud of them. We wish to express our gratitude to P. J. Mulvihill who provided the sound equipment on the night and Noreen Kennelly who provided the sandwiches. Thanks to the parents who provided lovely home-baking and refreshments on the night, also those who decorated the hall with photographs, those who worked hard in the kitchen and those who sold tickets for the raffle.Míle Buíochas.
