STATE EXAMS
Today, Wednesday, is the first day of the State Exams. Please keep the students in your thoughts as they face the exam that will probably shape the rest of their lives. Good luck to all sitting the exams.
FESTIVAL COFFEE MORNING
The inaugural Ballydonoghue Bardic Festival, is scheduled to take place on March 23rd - 25th 2018 in the parish.
The recently formed committee is holding a Coffee Morning on Sunday week, June 18th at Tomáisín’s. Time: 11.00am - 1.00pm. Titled as a Come and Meet your Neighbours event to discuss local happenings, etc as the longest day of the year approaches. Your support will be much appreciated.
CEMETERY MASSES
The dates of the annual cemetery masses are as follows:St John’s, Ballybunion, Friday next, June 9th at 7.30pm. Lisselton, Monday, June 19th at 8.00pm. Gale, Thursday, June 22nd at 8.00pm.
PARISH MAGAZINE
The deadline is fast approaching for the submission of material for inclusion in the 2017 edition of your Parish Magazine. BPM committee ask you to please submit your entries for the Maurice Walsh Creative Writing competition as soon as possible. Photography entries from both Junior and Senior competition urgently required. Old and new photos of family occasions, eg, First Communions, Confirmations, etc. Finally, the roving photographer is on the prowl again. You have been warned!
A WALK TO REMEMBER
The Walk to Remember on Ballybunion Beach last year organised by the O’Gorman family, Gortnaskeha is taking place again this year on Sunday, July 9th. The chosen beneficiary this year is Aoibheann’s Pink Tie charity, who help and offer support to families of children diagnosed with cancer who attend St John’s Oncology Ward in Our Lady’s Children Hospital, Crumlin. Make a note of the date. More details later.
