SUNFLOWER DAY

It’s a big week for The Kerry Hospice Foundation. Our annual Sunflower Days take place on the 9 th and 10 th of June in parts of the county. This is always a big fundraiser for the Foundation and as always what is raised in Kerry stays in Kerry. It is as always well supported by the people of Kerry and we are always looking for volunteers on the day of you can spare an hour or two.

MID SUMMER BALL

On Friday the 9th of June there is a Mid Summer Ball taking place in The Rose Hotel. This is being organised by Aileen Cotter and Andrea O Donoghue and all funds raised will go to Kerry Hospice /Palliative Care. This promises to be a great night with special guests and a very special performanc­e on the night. Some tickets still available contact Andrea on 0876413449 for informatio­n.

10K MEMORIAL WALK

An amazing €11,000 and counting.... Listowel branch stalwart Mary O’Connor and her family would like to thank everybody who participat­ed in this year’s Eamon O’Connor 10k Memorial Walk in aid of Kerry Hospice. They received amazing support on the day of the walk and a huge thank you to all who supported in any way.

LISTOWEL OPEN MEETING

Listowel hosted an open meeting on Wednesday last in Listowel Arms Hotel. A number of presentati­ons were made on the night. Violet Dalton , Phil Guerin and Noreen McEvoy presented a beautiful Mosaic of The Orange plant to be hung in our local hospice room.

We also received €3055 from Mary Kelly and Mary Costello which was money raised for Good Friday walk in Tarbert. Listowel Branch also received a donation of €300 from Listowel Bridge club. As always we thank the people of North Kerry for their support on all the events.

CAR BOOTS SALE

These returned to Fairfield in Killorgin on Sunday last, June the 4th and will continue over the summer. These are always well supported and there is always freshly baked goods available on the morning. Sellers are asked to be there at 10 am and buyers from 10:30 on.

CYCLE

The Lispole Naíonra had a sponsored cycle for the children on Friday last and raised €620. Thanks to Margaret and Sarah for organising the event for Kerry Hospice. Well done to all the kids who took part and a huge thank you to all who supported.

BEST OF LUCK

Best of luck to Aileen and Andrea who are organising the first Ever Mid Summers Ball in Tralee in aid of Kerry Hospice on Friday night. Also the very best of luck to our very own Mairead Fernane who is nominated for a Connect award on Friday night also.

We here at Kerry Hospice are so very proud of Mairead who is a trojan worker in the foundation.
