TRALEE’S famous town park will be a hive of activity this weekend as it plays host to the annual Féile na mBlath family and garden festival.

All the action kicks of this Friday evening when the park will – weather permitting – host an open air screening of hit Irish film ‘Sing Street’ organised by the Kerry Film Festival.

Over the rest of the weekend visitors to the park will be able to enjoy a massive variety of attractions including medieval battle re-enactments; music recitals; running and cycling events; gardening demos and workshops; flower competitions and a huge array of fun family entertainment.

Foodies will also be able to enjoy sampling some tasty treats in the food and craft market which will boast 30 plus stalls.

Once again Kerry Group have agreed to generously sponsor the festival and their marquee will play host to a variety of music recitals; tea dances; presentations and a trade display by Go Kerry.

“The Town Park in Tralee is a magnificent attraction for people of all ages, especially when it’s the venue for a weekend of top quality family entertainment. An event of this scale could not happen firstly without the support of Kerry County Council, the generous sponsorship from Kerry Group or the input of the people of Tralee. We are encouraging the entire community to come to Féile na mBláth at The Park Festival Tralee,” said Tralee Chamber Alliance President John Drummey.

Mayor of Tralee, Cllr Terry O’Brien will officially open Féile na mBláth at The Park at 7.30pm on Friday June 16 and the Festival will continue from 9am to 6pm daily on Saturday and Sunday, June 17 and 18.

Entry to the festival is completely free and full details of the many attractions can be found at www.Tralee.ie or by looking up the The ‘Park Family Festival Tralee’ page on Facebook.
