Six clubs and districts still in the running in Race of Champions final

THE annual Kerry GAA “Night of Champions” fundraisin­g event for Kerry GAA teams at the Kingdom Greyhound Stadium on Friday evening promises to be one of the GAA Social occasions of the year.

Along with the quality 11 Race Card there will be plenty of other entertainm­ent on the night in the presence of the Kerry Senior Football and Hurling players and management. Racing apart, some of the highlights of the evening will see a penalty shootout between the All Ireland Senior Club Champions Dr Crokes and the All Ireland Junior Champions Glenbeigh-Glencar, and a Best Dressed Lady competitio­n kindly sponsored by Jasmine Boutique.

The Kerry GAA Supporters Club is the new sponsor of the feature race on finals night; the “Kerry GAA Supporters Club Race of Champions” and we will also see the final of the Club Sweepstake, which started out with every Club and District board being ‘twinned’ with a dog.

Trap 6: Kildroum Brandy (Legion and St Kierans)

All GAA clubs throughout the county have €10 entry tickets for sale and this ticket also entitles patrons to be entered into a raffle for six valuable prizes, chief of which is an All-Ireland weekend in Dublin with two tickets for the All-Ireland Football or Hurling finals.

The first race is of at 7:40pm.
