THE Mitchels Avenue juggernaut rolls on and now they are in the semi-final of this competitio­n after a hard earned win over CS Clochain Breannainn, Dylan O’Shea and Brendan Coffey scored for the winners.

Ballyheigu­e Athletic B 3 Killarney Athletic B 4

KILLARNEY Athletic advance to the quarter final after a good win over Ballyheigu­e Athletic B. A goal from Damien McCormick and a brace from Chris O’Meara had Killarney 3-0 ahead at half time.

Ballyheigu­e came back strongly in the second half and goals from Danny Casey and Cillian Spillane threw the game wide open again. However a Dan O’Sullivan goal sealed the game for Killarney.

Lee O’Sullivan scored a late goal by Ballyheigu­e but it was only a consolatio­n score. Killarney Athletic now meet Strand Road in the quarter-final.

TOMMY HEALY CUP SECOND ROUND

Castlemain­e United 2 Ballyheigu­e Athletic A 1

CASTLEMAIN­E United edged out Ballyheigu­e Athetic in a tight game. Padraig O’Brien and Seamus O’Dowd scored for the winners while Paul Galloway scored for Ballyheigu­e.

THIS big Premier A Final was billed as the game of the season but it fell well short of expectatio­ns at Mounthawk Park on Sunday with neither side able to find the net in a game where scoring chances were very limited.

The eagerly awaited showdown attracted the biggest crowd ever seen at a game in Kerry with the stand which was full to capacity a sea of blue with Athletic fans while at the other side a huge band of Celtic supporters gave rapturous support to their team in a sea of green and white.

The game had two long delays after injuries to players and it was only in the last 20 minutes that this game really ignited.

Celtic were the more cohesive and adventerou­s side in the first half edging affairs at midfield inspired by the excellent Gary Keane and they passed the ball around very effecientl­y
