COLLECTION FOR PRIESTS
The annual Diocesan collection in aid of sick and retired priests in the Diocese of Kerry will be taken up at masses this weekend. Your support would be much appreciated.
DEATH
The death took place last week of Denis Brosnan of Cahereens West, Castleisland and formerly of Knockrour West. The late Denis is survived by his sons and daughter and by his brothers and sisters. Burial took place in Scartaglen Cemetery. May he Rest In Peace.
EVENING MASSES
There will be no weekday evening mass in Castleisland Parish Church during the months of July and August (except for First Fridays or by special arrangement. These will be announced in advance).
MOOREPARK OPEN DAY
A major Teagasc Open Day for all involved in the Irish dairy industry will take place in Teagasc Moorepark, Fermoy, Co. Cork on Tuesday next July 4th. The theme of this Open Day is Resilient Technologies. The overall sponsor is FBD Insurance. Teagasc Moorepark ‘17 will be a day not to be missed by anyone with an interest in the Irish dairy industry. The open day runs from 10.00am -- 5.00pm. A comprehensive booklet will be provided. COUNTY LEAGUE
Scartaglen took on Dr. Crokes B in a Round 1 back game of the Credit Union County League Division 4 in Lewis Road, Killarney on Sunday afternoon last. Once again, there was no joy for Scart as Dr. Crokes ran out easy winners on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-4. The home side led 0-6 to 0-2 at half time, Scarts points coming from Mike Horan and Daniel Murphy. Two pointed Pa Rahilly frees in the third quarter for Scartaglen and three for the home side left Dr. Crokes leading by 5 points at that stage. Crokes finished the half by scoring a further 1-2 to collect the points at stake. MUNSTER FINALS
Sunday next is a big day for football in Killarney where the Munster Senior and Minor Finals will be staged. The seniors clash against the Rebels and the Kerry minors take on Clare and we wish both teams and management the very best of luck on Sunday in their efforts to win further Munster titles. Best of luck also to local player Eddie Horan of Coolnageragh who is a member of the Kerry Minor team.
