SEISIÚN BEGINS

A new season of Seisiún traditional entertainment shows commence at the Devon on this Thursday, June 29 and will continue weekly until mid-August. It is a very popular event each year and is attended by both locals and visitors. It consists of a formal show of Irish music, song, dance and story and is followed in the second half by an informal section where members of the audience, if they so wish, may contribute music, singing or dancing items. If you have visitors and you wish to take them out for a night then the Seisiún show is ideal, where they can enjoy genuine Irish entertainment at its best.

The Comhaltas Summer Camp week will commence Monday, July 10, at Halla Inse Bhán and it is open to all 6-13 year olds who wish to have an enjoyable week of Irish culture, music, song, dance, etc. Enquiries to 0879654451.

TIDY TOWNS

The planting of the troughs by the school wall was finished this week as was the painting of the wall along the bus park. Well done to those who undertook the tasks. Travis the Tractor and driver had a busy time due to the sunny weather as all the plants had to be watered. The rose bushes in one section of the wall in the centre of the village are to be replaced as the growth of same was poor. Hopefully the new ones will be flourishing by the time the judges come by. If there are volunteers available to cover a small section of an area that requires watering, please contact T.T.T. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
