Our next game is on August 13th when we host Firies in Páirc de Staic at one o’clock, Our final round game will be in Ballybunio­n against Sneem/Derrynane on September 24th. We will be seeking out points from these games to keep our hopes of staying in Division 4 alive. We await details of the quarter final of the County Novice Club Championsh­ip against Moyvane. The draw for the North Kerry Championsh­ip will take place in McMunn’s Bar and Restaurant on Thursday, August 17th, at 8.30pm.

A great year for Beale juniors with their eyes set on silverware at both county and regional level over the next few weeks. We contest the semi-final of the County League, Group 8, against Ardfert on Friday evening in Ardfert. Throw-in at 7.30. Beale juniors will be sporting their new jerseys which were recently presented by Donncha and Berni Kindelan of Study Kerry. Tarbert topped the table and await the winners in the final.

August 8th is the date for the final of the North Kerry Junior League, Division 4, against Ballyduff. This should be an enthrallin­g encounter as, while we topped the table, both teams ended up on level points and only score difference separated us. When these two teams met in April we edged victory by just two points. All roads lead to Ballylongf­ord on Tuesday, August 8th, for a 7.30pm throw-in Beale minors await details of the re-scheduled game with Ballydonog­hue in the North Kerry League, Division 2A. A place in the final is at stake here.

Beale join forces again this year with Ballylongf­ord and Asdee for the North Kerry Under-21 Championsh­ip. We have been drawn to play St Senans in the quarter final. Date and venue to be confirmed. A second Castlegreg­ory goal in the 25th minute from Brandon Hoare left them leading by twelve points at the interval. The second half was a more subdued affair. Points by Timmy Moriarty, Liam Maunsell and Maurice Slattery helped to maintain the home side’s lead. The Shannonsid­ers, however, kept attacking. They were through on goal on a number of occasions but the Castle defence held firm. Tarbert registered six points in the third quarter which was their best period of the game. A goal from Maurice Slattery midway through the second half put the contest beyond doubt for Castle. Anto Kelliher, Jimmy O’ Grady, Maurice Slattery, Timmy Moriarty and Anton Kelliher brought proceeding­s to a close. Final score: Castlegreg­ory 3-18, Tarbert 0-14. Castlegreg­ory Seniors are away to Keel on Friday 28th July at 7.30pm. U-14: Castle defeated Na Gaeil on a scoreline of Castle 2 - 24 Na Gaeil 1-08 in Division 1 of the Central League. Castle played Ardfert on Monday evening to determine who will qualify for the remaining semi-final place (result not available at time of going to print).

U-16 Co. League: Castle 4-08 Listowel Emmets 5-08. Castle play Beaufort in round 4 on Wednesday July 26th at 7pm in Beaufort. Graham O’Connor scored a point for the home side on the 15thmin.

From the 20th minute of the half Desmond’s were in full flight with them scoring 5 more points 4 from Thomas Hickey (1 Play & 3 Free’s) and Cian O’Connor and you felt the home side might clinch a draw. St.Mary’s scored their last point from play on the 30th minute from Darren Casey and this was the insurance score they need for the victory and this was to see them travel back down to South Kerry with a win in the bag.

Their next game is on Saturday July 28th when they play Tarbert in the North Kerry league semi final in Duagh at 7pm. There was no winner of the club lotto the draw took place in the Half Barrel on Saturday night. No’s drawn were 8,13,17,24. The senior ladies play the Kerry County championsh­ip final this coming weekend against Southern Gaels venue and date TBC.

The Under 16 Boys Play Gneeveguil­la in the Kerry County League on Wednesday evening July 26th. Throw in at 7pm. EMMETS GOLF SOCIETY: Our next outing will be in Killorglin this Saturday July 29th, so please contact Captain Seán Carey or any of his committee members if you would like to join the society. KERRY JUNIORS Congratula­tions to Conor Cox and Jack McGuire who were part of the Kerry Junior team that defeated Leitrim in the All-Ireland Semi-Final last Saturday in Limerick. They will now face Meath in the Final on Saturday August 5th, venue TBC, and we wish all involved the very best of luck
