U14 GAA

OUR U14’s lined out against St. Senan’s for the NKL final in Duagh recently. Played in ideal conditions before supporters from St. Senan’s and Moyvane, the game was a draw.

DEATHS

DEATH has taken place of Mary McCarthy (née Roche)16 St Ita’s Terrace, Newcastle West, and / Moyvane, Mary died on Friday 14th of July. Sadly missed by her daughter Anne Fitzmauric­e (Moyvane), sons Seán, Tom and Eddie, sister Noreen, grandchild­ren, daughters-in-law, son-inlaw, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces. Requiem Mass for Mary McCarthy was celebrated by Fr. Kevin on Monday 17th July at Newcastlew­est Church with burial afterwards in Monagea Cemetery.

DEATH has taken place of Anna Danaher Smithwick , Toronto, Canada & Woodcliffe, Loughill, Died in Canada on 14th July. Deeply regretted by her husband Peter, sons, John, Kevin and Neill, daughters in law, grandchild­ren, brother Rev. Monsignor Mort Danaher, sisters in law, Patricia & Noelle, nephews, nieces. Memorial mass was on Sunday evening last, celebrated by her brother Monsignor Mort Danaher in the Church of the Visitation, Ballyhahil­l. Burial has taken place in Canada.
