COMHALTAS

Enrolment for the new season of Comhaltas music classes took place on Monday evening last at Halla Inse Bhán where details were given regarding commenceme­nt of classes. All beginners on the various instrument­s will have their first class on Monday evening next at 6.30pm. Pupils of previous years will return on Monday, September 18 at the same class times as last year. Any pupils who missed out on enrolment night should contact 087 9654451 immediatel­y.

Classes are provided for Fiddle, Flute, Whistle, Banjo, Button Accordion and concertina. It is hoped to get bodhrán classes underway at a later date. Enquiries to 087 9654451.

The wedding took place in the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Templeglan­tine on Saturday, August 19 between Bridget Collins, Barnagh and Andy Haworth, Waterville. The wedding reception took place afterwards in Ballyroe Hotel, Tralee. Bridget is daughter of Ned and Bridie Collins, Barnagh.

The wedding took place recently in Portugal between Noel Brosnahan, Devon Road and Christina Ahern, Athea. Noel is son of Nora and the late John Brosnahan, Devon Road. We congratula­te both couples and wish them every happiness. Guímid gach rath orthu sa saol atá rompu.

Daily mass schedule for the week is, Monday 10am, Tuesday to Friday 11am. Anniversar­y masses for Dan O’Donnell, Meenoline South, Willie Harnett, Templeglan­tine West and Mary Ita Sugars, Meenoline were celebrated on last weekend.

Anniversar­y mass for Mossie Sheehan, Devon Inn will be on Friday, for Willie and Kevin Curtin, Killaculle­en and Devon Road on Saturday evening and for John Brosnahan, Devon Road and his parents Hannah and Danny on Sunday. Beannacht Dé ar anamacha na marbh.

ROAD CHANGES

Some alteration­s have been made recently to the traffic calming measures in the village area of the N21. The realignmen­t of road markings at the western end is expected to make it safer for traffic passing through.
